A Fantastic Week to Celebrate and a Great Week Ahead…

It was a fantastic week this past week at Saint Peter. Our staff had fun as 101 Dalmatians for Halloween and so many kids were dressed up in really fun costumes. Mrs. Schell’s class put on an OUTSTANDING performance of Macbeth. We had an assembly celebrating our students who demonstrated Gratitude and set our students up to understand November’s Theme: GRIT

If you are wondering what GRIT is and why it is important, here is a video from a researcher doing a TED talk on GRIT. It does a really good job helping us understand why GRIT is important and how we can support the development of GRIT in our kids.

Spirit Wear

We have secured a Spirit Wear Vendor who is putting together a digital store to be released this week. All orders placed before the deadline will ensure that items WILL BE delivered before we leave for the Christmas break. Stay tuned later this week!

Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences This Thursday November 7th

We scheduled all the interviews and the schedule is going home with a the oldest and only siblings in each household with the progress report on Tuesday. We did our best to ensure families have appointments close together. Thank you for participating in the process and we look forward to welcoming you to the building later in the week. To accommodate our larger classes, we will keep the interviews to 10 minutes. However, if you feel you need a follow-up conversation, do not hesitate to book something with the teacher for a future date. We take great pride at Saint Peter in our parent partnerships and always want to keep you involved and informed of your child’s learning progress.

Popcorn Thursdays Starting This Week

Our grade 8s will selling Popcorn for $1 each Thursday to raise some funds for their graduation. The idea is that the grade 8s take a leadership role in this, so the sales will be cash only and will take place weekly on Thursdays. If you happen to send your child with a dollar, they can enjoy popcorn. If not, they can always enjoy another week. We will be selling the popcorn weekly until Christmas. If it remains popular, we may continue throughout the winter and into the Spring. It will definitely be delicious while it lasts!
