Our Lenten Journey Continues…

We continue the journey of lent together as a community. We take time for prayer, fasting and alms giving. Prayer is simply connecting with God. There are many forms of prayer such as conversations with God or quiet reflection through Christian meditation. Fasting is intentionally giving up something (electronics, sweets etc.) in order to create more space in our life to connect with God. Our third focus is alms giving. This is where we work together as individuals in a community to do works of justice that please God. Examples could be volunteering time to connect with the elderly or donating goods to a Food Drive. Stay tuned for our Saint Peter Lenten Project when we return from March Break.

Ash Wednesday & A Week of Creativity!

While there is always great learning happening around the building, this week seemed to have an artistic focus. Students from all grades were participating in Art Club and doing various creative projects within their classes. It was neat to witness so much creativity being used throughout the building.

All the Best to Mrs. Faria!

We said farewell to one of Saint Peter’s finest staff members. After 23 years, she made the difficult decision to retire. There will be a new Kindergarten teacher joining the team in September and there will be a teacher filling in until the end of June. When H.R. has completed final approvals, I will communicate the details with our community, and look forward to welcoming the new teacher to Saint Peter with you.

Dance-A-Thon Final Numbers In!

Our Dance-A-Thon was a HUGE Success! Thank-you to everyone who participated in the fundraising effort. Over 120 prizes went home to students in the school and everyone received a free week of Dance and Martial Arts. As a community we raised $8,565.10 after all expenses! A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making it happen for our students. A special shout out to Angel, Alyssa, Bethany, Kristen and Bree for their extraordinary leadership and service to our community. There were many unseen hours of work, and it was truly a labour of love by this group of Defender parents.
