April Showers Bring…

May flowers AND exciting learning opportunities. Our staff and students participated in a Spheros Tech learning session. This builds upon the coding and Math skills the students are learning, and it is a LOT of fun. Our Grade 1/2 class was learning to use 100 charts and number lines to solve math problems.

Our Staff continued their learning at our staff meeting where we heard from our School Social Worker Tonya Beattie about supporting students struggling with mental health issues and were reminded of our duty to report abuse. Great learning about content that supports all of our children.

We had lots of extra-curricular fun happening as well. For those who prefer low key activity, our knitting club was in full swing. Our Healthy Schools Team led the whole school in a Fitness Dance using the YMCA song. Our whole school dressed in Blue on Tuesday in support of our students with Autism at Saint Peter. Great fun last week. Looking forward to another Wonderful Week of Learning Defenders!

Congratulations are in Order…

We want to take an opportunity to celebrate some AMAZING students in our community. The first 3 people are our top fundraisers for Pepperstix. Congratulations to Zaira, Abby and Nolan!

Our students of the Month were recognized for their kindness throughout the community. The April’s focus is demonstrating love for our planet.

Lastly, only 1 student in each school can be selected for this highly distinguished honour of being the Saint Peter Beacon of Hope. This student embodies the values and expectations we hope for all of our Catholic graduates. Congratulations Dominic on this very special distinction! His contagious smile can be seen below as he poses with our Director of Education, Loretta Notten.
