Hi Defender Families,

It has been a long winter and everyone is looking forward to our Spring March Break. We have accomplished so much together and we still have many great days of learning ahead. For now, we enter a time of rest before we return to a season of change on the horizon. As Director Notten shared, there are many restrictions that will be relaxed by the Chief Medical Officer of Health upon our return. It will take some of us longer to adjust than others. Whether we choose to continue wearing a mask or not, we are all responsible to be respectful and inclusive toward our neighbours. This was true before the pandemic began and continues as we enter the next leg of the journey.

Over the break, review the changes with your children and talk about what is right for your family upon our return from the break. Maybe your kids are ready to remove their masks. Maybe they will feel safer wearing them for the next little while and beyond. Wherever your decision lands as a family, we look forward to welcoming you back and transitioning to some of our dearly missed school routines and activities. Everything won’t change overnight, but we will work together as a school family to navigate these adjustments together, and include everyone each step of the way.

Have a safe and restful March Break with your family. We look forward to seeing each of you when return on January 21st.

Take Care and Be Well,

Mr. Hunt and the Team at Saint Peter
