Welcome Back Defenders!
We are officially in 2023. A new year brings many opportunities to start fresh. Give yourself grace and patience as new habits take time to form and old habits take time to break. We are really excited to have everyone back together again!
Pokémon Pause this week…
Prior to the break, our staff noticed a LOT of upset feelings about damaged Pokémon cards that were exposed to Winter weather. We also noticed that students were trading outside and those trades were being perceived as unfair by one of the students involved in the trade. Normally, that trade could be a learning opportunity and we try to support our students while on the yard to make good decisions around their Pokémon cards. However, they have been bringing those upset feelings and arguments back to the classroom after recess, and it was really impacting several classroom learning environments. For now, we are putting a pause on Pokémon cards at school so can make learning the focus during the class time. We will develop a Pokémon club and have a schedule so that it will have the least negative impact on learning, but continue to bring joy to students who are excited about this hobby. Stay tuned…but keep the Pokémon cards at home for now. Thank you for your partnership and cooperation as we work together to support our learners.

- Traditionally, JK Registrations for school boards takes place in February for the upcoming school year
- A Welcome to Kindergarten Night will be held at Saint Peter School in late May to answer parents questions (date to be determined soon)
- Children born in 2019 are eligible for Year 1 of The Kindergarten Program (Junior Kindergarten)
- Children born in 2018 are eligible for Year 2 of The Kindergarten Program (Senior Kindergarten)
- NOTE: Children currently enrolled at Saint Peter School in Year 1 (JK) do not need to register for Year 2 (SK)
